Story Box ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your information.
Voice Input: When you use the voice input feature, your device's microphone records audio which is sent to our servers for transcription. This audio is processed in real-time and is not stored permanently.
Story Content: The text you enter or speak is used to generate personalized stories. Story content is temporarily stored during generation and for your viewing session.
Device Identifier: We use an anonymous device identifier to track usage limits and purchased credits. This identifier cannot be used to personally identify you.
Custom Character Photos: If you upload a photo to create a custom character, that photo is sent to Google's Gemini AI to generate a text description of the character's appearance (used only to keep that character's look consistent across your story's illustrations -- your photo itself is never shown to other users). The photo is stored on our servers only while it is in active use: up to 48 hours if uploaded but never used in a story, or up to 7 days at a time (renewed each time you reuse that character in a new story or continuation) while it is in use. Photos that are no longer in use are automatically deleted; deleted photos cannot be recovered.
Generated stories, images, and audio are temporarily stored on our servers and automatically deleted after your session. We do not permanently store your personal content. Custom character photos follow the retention windows described above under "Custom Character Photos" and are stored in a location separate from other generated story assets.

Story Box is designed to be family-friendly. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
You can stop using voice input at any time by not granting microphone permission or by using text input instead.
